The nearly perfect off-the-shelf line is diesel fuel return line from most Audi VW cars and parts stores. 3mm re-enforced cloth covered. Not as thick as the original, but more than up to the task. Team up with 3 friends and splurge on a foot.

The same place will have clamps. To make it look very original, use a larger OD hose that has some cloth texture that fits tightly over the 3mm hose. The outer hose can be anything that looks right.I think i looked at that before, and the next question was where to find hose clamps small enough...

Peter May engineering in the UK lists a Steel Braided Oil Pressure gauge hose for ÂŁ22, I suppose that it replaces the copper line all the way. Might not look original but will last forever, might be worth checking that out or have some place local make you a hose.
