TR2/3/3A Oil pressure at Hot idle?

Lately my oil pressure gauge is reading 70 psi ? Better than reading too low but I don't remember it being that high. Maybe 50psi? Engine rebuild was around 15 years ago. Could there be something else going on or is this a gauge issue? What should normal oil pressure be during driving and after a hard run?

My oil pressure is 20 to 25 at idle when hot and 50 to 60 at 2500 rpm hot. On startup it is 70.

I did reset my Pressure relief valve to 70 psi.

The TR3B I am working on had an oil pressure around 90 when I drove it up the road so I reset it to 70.

You could get a cheap gauge to plug into the oil pressure line to verify your gauge.

If the gage does not return to zero when you shut down, then your gage is sprung. If it does return to zero, then either the gage is correct, or needs calibration.
