T-Series Oil pipe leaks on '50 TD-help!

Hello anyone who can help,
I just acquired a '50 MG-TD everyday driver. 1st task was to change oil. That was almost 3 weeks ago!! I had the old style aluminum vertical oil canister assembly. Moss no longer had filters available so I purchased "new" steel assembly and some filters. 3 weeks later I still can't drive it because oil just pours out where banjo bolts connect to filter and now from engine block as well after changing those washers out. Have tried all new Moss copper washers, lotsa other washers, torqued it to death, you name it! It still leaks! Seems like banjo must be "bottoming out" but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I think I just added a picture of the leak in progress:(
ANY wild ideas would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Ed /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nopity.gif

Have you tried a copper washer behind the fiber washer to provide a little stand-off?

There are no fiber washers distributed from Moss for this newer assembly. They seem to be all copper. I found this odd as well because the old assembly used copper and fiber! However, I did try adding one of the old fibers plus a copper yesterday and it still leaked. This is really depressing!!

My first recommendation is to replace the hard lines with braided hoses. My second recommendation is to replace the filter assembly with a spin-on adapter (they look fairly original). I'll PM you contact info for who you need to call.

Thanks for the reply!
I looked at the spin-on adapter in Moss catelog. Unfortunately that model is only for XPAG engines newer than my # 3139. I think you can retrofit one on but from what I read (Malcolm Green's T Series Restoration Guide) you also need to plug the oil line hole in the block, remove and modify the oil pump somewhat plus purchasing the horizontal assembly and the spin on adapter! Whew! Plus I already spent $160+ on the blue one you see in the picture!

As for the braided hoses, I wish! Moss does not show them and charges about $70 each for new metal ones (one of which I have coming UPS Monday just in case). If you know of a braided source that w/b wonderful! (What does "PM" mean?)

I've sent you everything you need by private message (PM). Click on the flashing envelope near the top of the screen. It has contact information for the people you need to call. Forget the Moss stuff, it's inferior to what I have sent you.

Hope you are able to fix the problem and I'd like to welcome a fellow T series owner to the BCF.

Being hard headed I would have tried two copper washer on the side that was leaking.
