I see your problem right away you should have painted it all black . Not really it all looks great nice job. Bolts might work with a copper washer and sealant on threads. As for the valve cover others are right on seal to cover not head. The alum cover is a good look I have one on my TR 6 and yes all flat so cork not that great as a seal. I cleaned my cover after fight with cork I then put a high temp sealant on cover no cork and let set over night ( large bead of sealant ) It acted as a permeant seal and have adj. valves several times over the years and still never a drop remember never over tighten it just bends cover. I have just pulled my trans. to seal all leaks. It was the front seal of the trans not rear main As I replaced starter I replaced gear on flywheel also still clean and dry rear main. one for the team me. Over the years I have worked on many leaks some do to my first try others do to time running my car. My timing chain cover leaked for years just a drip or two I thought that ran all to the back of the motor so looked like every thing leaked. Two years ago I did the rear differential a pain for sure but all still dry. C 19 may have you home so what left to do. Madflyer
