Oil in the TRactor engine?

I have my engine on an engine stand right now. I would like to move it to the frame. Before I do that I'm wondering what I can, should mount on it while its still on the stand. Sure will be harder to get to, work on, after its on the frame. Nother question, what should be on the engine before I put oil in. Right now the head, oil pan, fuel pump, filter head but not the filter and the water pump housing is on the engine. I would like to put some oil in it and crank it around to spread the oil about.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you used a high quality lube as you replaced the pistons, bearings, heaven forbid cam you will spread enough oil when you initially crank it. I would not add the oil until it was in the frame. Its a bit risky to crank on on the stand. Now thats worth all you paid for it.

Well, if you mean that you want to prime it on the stand, why not wait until it's in the car and ready to be run? It will be more effective then.
