Oil Gauge Pipe

Well, it's finally warm enough to begin work on the 3, so that can only mean the start of problems and questions. Nisonger rebuilt the oil gauge, and I got a new sender pipe from Moss, so I figured installation would be easy. Unfortunately, the pipe screws on about 1/2 way, then binds. The threads on both gauge and pipe look fine, and I have no trouble running a tap onto the gauge. Any ideas? Thanks.

Gauge should have male threads, so I assume you mean a die rather than a tap ... what size fits ? If memory serves, the original threads are oddball, like BSP or something like that.

Also, I assume you are aware that there is supposed to be a leather gasket in the joint.
