OIl gauge lines on my 57

So why do I have about 10 inches too much OIL LINE when installing the new copper line and the new flex line? Coil it up? Leave out the flex line? Pictures anyone?

Copper line should be installed with a 360 loop in it. See any old Rolls for example.
 
Not totally original, as you can see, but about 47 inches total (lost an inch or two with jury rig) with no loop. Original is steel. Tom
