I'm pretty sure 15-20 weight is very close to original specs. If you want stiffer action, you can go with a higher weight oil. I have Harley fork oil in mine (MGB's), and they feel just right to me. But stand by; I'm sure others will chime in shortly with their thoughts.

Stock was about SAE 10 weight. You can go a little heavier for more damping action, but don't go too heavy. Rumor has it that 30 weight is about the limit without eventually destroying the shock unit.
Even 10 weight fork oil may be hard to find. Look for a shop that specializes in Harley parts.
Or just get shock oil from Moss, 220-304
