Oil Flow ? 65

65 is running strong oil pressure 40 at idle 60 under load. My friend is questioning the lack of visible oil moving along the head with the oil cap removed. It is my understanding that the cap must be present for poper operation and yes the pressure goes down with the cap removed. ? should we be seeing much actual oil movement?

Nope.

With the valve cover off you should see some oil from rocker shaft/bushing area of each, but it doesn't "squirt" oil. Be warned: with the total amount of oil coming from all eight points (if properly oiling) there can be some "mess" with the cover off. But it shouldn't get "spritzy" if you don't rev above idle.

As long as *some* oil is coming out of the rockers, you are fine.
If no oil is coming out, one of the rocker pedestools might be in the wrong spot.
One (or more) pedestools has an oil hole in it, and there is 1 oil hole in the head where the drilled pedestool should go.
My buddy ruined the rockers on his MGA this way.
