Oil filter housing gasket question

Okay, I'm trying to get some more bits attached to the Tunebug, and I ran across a little parts mismatch. I was trying to attach the oil filter housing to the block, but the gasket I have seems wrong:

Moss lists two different filter housings for a 1275, but no years listed. My housing and block are from a 1974 Midget. It seems from the pictures that I have the one that goes with gasket #114-061 but it's a bit hard to tell from the photos. Any thoughts/guesses?

That is the gasket for the block mounted fuel pump.

That would explain it...

That is the early filter to block gasket, if you have the VB gasket set, both styles of gaskets come in the kit. I just did this and found the other gasket along with the one you are showing. There is also a fuel pump gasket, it's close but not right.

Thanks, Frank. I'll make sure I get both gasket styles so I get the proper one I need.

I'll be the "old guy" here and suggest you toddle over to a local NAPA store and get some gasket paper of proper thickness. And a 6 ounce ball-peen hammer if ya haven't one now.

Pin a piece of the paper on a flat surface and trace the outline of the filter housing face on the paper, cut it out with scissors then hold it FIRMLY against the face as you apply the ball end of the hammer repeatedly to the edges of the holes in the body of the housing. Some Hylomar on it and install.

I agree with the good doctor!! Making gaskets is easy and you should have some gasket paper on the shelf!!

PM sent, John.
