Lots of commentary and comparisons on forty oils, with emphasis on zddp.


Interesting note: some findings show zddp may actually increase engine wear.

It depends upon the test too...what were the testing parameters? My own simple test is cutting open oil filter canisters for particulate matter.
 
I use premium oil, Castrol or Royal Purple. No zddp, except n new break ins, for valve and cam replacement. If I race or track a vehicle older than 73, I will add zddp only on occasion. Any of my high mileage cars never showed much wear.
