Oil Change

first this has nothing to do with a Triumph except that my TR6 was Close by, My 1997 Chris Craft boat needed an oil change after the new engine I put in it, dont ask.... and after 20 hours of run on break in oil. As any one knows changing oil in a boat is difficult at best, no drain plug in the pan. so after 4 hours of thought I came up with putting a heavy duty trash bag under the engine, and unbolting the dipstick tube, drain the oil in the trash bag and slide the bag out of the engine bay, without punching a hole in the bag and dang, It worked like a champ!
so if you have an inboard outboard and want to change your own oil thats an easy way
thats all

A dip stick suction pump is easier and no mess! There are various kinds, powered or manual. All depends on how much you wish to spend. Here's a couple of many. PJ

actually I bought one, its got a 12v motor but it never worked very well. maybe I didnt get the oil hot first but its a pain to run the boat in the drive way long enough to get the oil hot so it can be sucked out, so the oil bag thing works well, and anyway you do an oil change its messy

But will it draw out the large chunks of broken metal I always have in my engines?

Just ordered the one in the Picture, Just spent the weekend changing oil on the LBCs should make the job a bit easier, now for a way to make an easy swap filter

well the only problem with an inboard boat engine is there is NO Oil drain plug!
you have to have it sucked out or do as I did, and sucking out the oil never gets all the old oil out, IMO
