Swapping gearbox for an O/D on a '67 (you guys have helped greatly on this). Just buttoning it up and have realized that there is a part missing that's different than on the non-O/D gearbox.

The speedometer output at rear of gearbox seems to missing the threaded male to male coupling that the cable angle drive attaches to. Moss shows this part on Page 40 of their most tecent catalog, bottom piece of assbly 28. Listed as NA.

Anyone have a Type D O/D in pieces and could spare this gremlin of a part? I'm SOL without it.

Thanks in advance, Dave.

Dave - I'm not being a smart aleck; but, have you ever heard of 'hen's teeth'? Well, you'll probably have more luck finding them...

....it should be up inside the OD housing & is the part to which the angle drive attaches.

Sorry I can't help.

I have a D-Type OD that is going into my '65 B. I have not rebuilt the unit yet. If you need to examine the part feel free to come by.

Steve,
Thanks for the offer. I just may to see if something can be fashioned to fit.

Where are you located in L.A.
Dave.

Dave - when you do go up to look at it, you'll see what I mean about the design

Thanks to all. Ended up at Quantum Mechanics. Good folks. They are sending one right out. They seem to have all the hens teeth needed for these old gearboxes.

Maybe on the road by the weekend with a new O/D. Hooray!

Whoa! Slow down...better not get too cocky /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

Good on ya.
