I know many of my fellow BCFer's use eBay to purchase parts and things and eBay is a wonderful source. Many of you also use PayPal to complete the transaction. I had an issue with my PayPal account that resulted in my credit card numbers being used by someone else. I was told by PayPal, via their website, that they have a suspicion that my account had been hacked. They never asked for my card number, passwords or any other information except my telephone number so an automated dialer can confirm my identity. I received the call and proceeded to pay for the auction also via their website. Please take note of this for all future transactions.

I can say with metaphysical certitude it was not the seller. Someone hacked my PayPal account. I also don't think it was PayPal or eBay's fault. I was just not on my toes!

you didn't get phished did you? I get emails every day from "paypal" (and other credit card companies and banks) saying my account has been compromised and asking me to login?

I have also received a few of those, and promptly report them to Paypal! One must be diligent when on the net! A proper Paypal log-in , etc., etc. will ensure no problems!
