saw this in a group of pictures from the recent world microcar meet in Chicago.

I know the guy who owns/built that car. He is in the hat and glasses in the background. As I understand it, the reason he built it is one of the cars used burned up. And I believe the other car was in equally unsaveable condition. Between the two cars there was enough to build this one. Like they say in movie credits, "No MGBs were harmed in the making of this motion picture."

Did he tear up pieces of "Th' L" to re-enforce the frame on that thing? :jester:

Good grief!

Someone had one of those at Gatlinburg in 06. I think it was a CB version. It was blue as I remember. PJ

Just remember...the car was built from scraps.

OH!! Th' humanity!!

I'll bet that creation is a flexible flier!

One does wonder at these projects that people put huge amounts of effort and money into. One hopes that the fact that they are usually completely without any resale value isn't a factor they overlooked.....

Oh well, at least he used a couple of RBBs.

I'm feeling a bit nauseous.

Whenever I see something like that (and the queasy feeling wears off) my main thought is "Why?"

and likely the answer is "because I can." Not my taste but as mentioned I can't begrudge him what is obviously a good job with scrap cars.

One of these stretch jobs was done with a Miata, and it turned out quite well.

Actually, I am with you blokes on this one. First, give him a standing ovation for having the skill to do it.......................THEN shoot him.
