Oh Doc!

Hopefully this will put to rest the notion of cloud computing.

feh. It'll have to grind to a halt before anyone does anything.
We're lookin' to IPv6 as some sort of answer to ALLOW the overcrowding!

...kinda puts me in mind of trying to board a bus in Manila.

Not to worry!! According to the Mayan calendar it all comes to an end in 2012 anyway!!

Or a train in Japan:

Is that for real?????????????? Yikes.

Being that I HATE crowds...I guess I cross another place to visit off my list.

Yup. Same-same.

Yeah, that's an extreme example, but the trains there are regularly packed cheek to jowl (or other anatomical parts) at rush hour. And, it's not like they are hours apart; another one will come along in about a minute and it's the same. Not for the claustrophobic.

Still, Japan is really worth seeing if you get the chance. I wouldn't rule it out just because you might get asphyxiated or some silly little problem like that. The locals survive, and you will too, probably.

OH man do not let this put you off from taking a trip to Japan. There is so much else to this country. However. We had special allied trains but we prefered to ride these. Where else can you drive a train or be the conductor. Probably does not happen any more though. It is a ball traveling this way. especially if you speak the language. My favorite run was from Tokyo to Yokohama. Ichiban!---Keoke-- :driving:

I've rode on the buses, trains, and subs in Japan. While the trains and subs were "crowded" IMO, they were nothing like that. Of course, I didn't ride them during rush hour either...

Oh yeah, the interweb is already a house of cards, if you ask me. I don't know how many times I've had to explain routing to people to explain why they had an awesome connection to my employer's data center yesterday, but today it's crawling slower than frozen molasses, when there's nothing wrong with the servers they're trying to connect to.
