Leaving this morning on a volunteer trip to help build some new structures at Fish Camp.
Of course there will also be some fishing...
I will touch base when I return, and I will have pics.
See ya in about 8 days!

At the airport now, I will be at a remote location on an island. No cell, Internet or anything.
It's going to be a blast!

Baggage guys broke the plane. Put it back together and are doing the paperwork. Half hour delay.
I've seen 4 people get moved up to 1st class from around me. But not me. :frown:
Just waiting on the airplane.

Hey Rick,

Is this at a private fish camp or a research field station? Back in the day doing research I spent some time in the back woods of BC on Takla Lake and in Kaslo on a spawning channel, but never made it up to Alaska. The UW has 6 field stations in the Bristol Bay area.

Keep an eye out for bears. It can be startling to look up from what you’re doing and see one sizing you up from across the stream.

Thanks, only black bears here but they still command respect.
Hey I found a little wifi!!

Having a great time, caught a couple nice silvers this morning about 5:30am.
We have a great start on both buildings, more work to do though.
It's a private type camp, not a research place.
We hope to get out about an hour earlier tomorrow morning, maybe we will do better.
Can't upload pics at this time, sorry.

Among other things the family van broke down while I was away.
So the wife picked me up at the airport in the Midget.
I got a 50 pound box of fish and my luggage and my fishing rods in the Midget and we drove home. Pretty amazing eh?

Very good trip, I'll have the pics up on picasa soon - right now I'm still fixing stuff that broke while I was gone.

The van broke a serpentine belt, then it 'just died' and had to be towed home.

Darn, Rick...you just made my life feel really boring!!

Glad you had a good time!

Kurt.
