Odometer Reset Rod

The knob on my odometer reset rod is right at the lower edge of my dash. I can barely get two fingers on the end of the knob and not enough grip to turn it. I hesitate to bend the rod to get it away from the dash. I think a better route would be a longer knob. Mine is attached with a small cotter pin.

Anyone out there had this issue and found a good solution? This is on a BT7.

Mine hangs down farther than that and is no problem to grip. I wonder if one of the instrument shops could sell you a longer knob.

Edit: searching eBay for 'smiths odometer reset knob' brings up several longer ones for Triumph, Norton etc. Not sure if they'd fit Healey.
