I drove the GT yesterday on my errand run, and I was slightly perplexed:
Everything was fine until I was in 4th gear for about 1/4 mile ( 45 m.p.h. - level road). A squealing/shrieking sound suddenly started. It wasn't deafening, but it was loud. It stopped as soon as I shifted out of gear and did not return, despite attempts to duplicate the conditions.
Has anyone had this happen before? I initially thought it might be the heater fan or the wheel bearings. I switched the heater fan off as soon as the squealing started and I would have thought that wheel bearings would have caused a more persistent squeal.
