Odd Piece In Spring

During the suspension tear down on the left side I found a rubber wedge in between one of the spring coils. The right side didn't have this. What's it for?

All Spridgets seem to list to the DS. Just the way they are.

Could adding a piece like that between the coils change the camber (top of tire pointing inward)?

Had the same thing in my ds coil spring except it was aluminum, ditched it when I replaced the coils

No, that would be collapsed bushings (A-arm and/or trunnion.)
