TR2/3/3A Odd looking modified TR3 on Craigslist...saint luis obismo

By far the best view (and best part) of the Daimler is under the hood. It has a really nifty and very compact 140 hp 2.5 l hemi-head V-8 engine with twin SU carburation.

Um.........I like cheese.......?

I tried to buy that thing because the body might be in good shape under all that--- plus it had the running gear. Anyways after a couple of emails the guy decided to keep it. This is one of the emails I sent him:
“Would you know if the body tub was cut when they did the modifications? I am looking for a parts car and need the tub to be intact. My hopes were they set the modification on top of the body and did not cut away the old shell. “
There were some earlier emails also, but in the end he figures he has a diamond in the ruff now. I see this all the time in my quest for a parts car, not an extreme case like this, but I find someone with 5 old tr3s and they think they are all potentially worth 40K. I mean they believe they are actually going to fix them up. The deal that gets me is that some of the cars are very solid and they leave them outside waiting for that day. And the real torture is I ask them what they paid for a specific one and they will say 1000 or less.
