I picked up a OD for my 75 the other day at a good price and I am in the process of getting it ready to go in the car. What do I want to check while it's on the bench? I've pulled the side cover and the guts look great. I've pulled the filter cover and that very clean though it's been dpo'd and will be replaced. What else should I look for?

I'm stoked both cars will have overdrive in 09

Stu - build yourself some way of holding the trans in place on the table....then, using an electric motor, turn the trans over fast enough to see if it kicks into OD when you flip a switch that's hooked to the trans.....think about that for a bit, find an old electric motor & do some innovative engineering! Oh, a few pieces of angle iron & a crank-type tie-down will hold it in place....power to the trans can be provided by a car battery...all you have to do is find a pulley setup to fo on the electric motor & one that'll bolt to the tailshaft - fan belt between motor & pulley.

& lemme know when you're ready to accept a package!
