Occasional Door Malfunction

My driver’s door occasionally will not open. When it happens, neither the outside handle nor the inside handle will open door. Any ideas?
 
I recently had the outside door handle not work. The pin that handle rotates on had slipped out. You may have something similar. Have fun getting the handle out and back in.
