O Tony!

Some interesting cars there....my only problem with Craig's List ads is nobody ever answers the phone!

That's Brighton Motor Sports in Tempe, AZ (www.brightonmotorsports.com) who appear to be selling all their cars!

Update: They've sold everything except 1 or 2 of the cars - what they did was split all their cars between the various partners as they've gone their separate ways...Finally got in touch with the Paul in the ad...none of the cars that are left are cheap (unrestored TF is $28,000; TC is $25,000).

He gave me the number for Craig Clarke, the guy who ended up with the MGA's when they went their separate ways....he's got a white 1959 MGA coupe from California I'm definitely interested in...he's gonna send me photos & can bring it to Birmingham in 2 weeks in his enclosed trailer as he delivers another car if its what I want & we agree on price (& from his initial price, we're close!)

I live in the Metro Phoenix area and have never heard of Brighton Motorsports. I know Glen at the MG Shop. Glen is in Tempe.

hehehehe...looks like I may own a 1959 MGA coupe - California car with CA title & black tag...from the photos she's rust free & ready for me to redo.

We're working out all the details for him to deliver it to me in Alabama from Arizona in about a week!

With that addition, I will have a 1959 MGA roadster & a 1959 MGA coupe! Both originally Old English White, the roadster with a black w/white piping interior; the coupe red interior!!

cool - pics please - congrats

Woohoo! More MGs for Tony -- many of us live vicariously through you, Tony, so keep building up that collection.

Here's a couple of the 30-or-so photos he's sent me....she's a project that got started & then forgotten...he tells me he has the bumpers & that the car & trunk are full of new or redone parts...we'll see:

That's the OE valance that's not completely bolted on.

That paint would have to come off - he tells me it was just put on the body to potect it after the owner lost interest...underneath it was upposed to be OEW.

Nice, Tony.

There's a couple little dings on the boot lid and another on the front fender near the headlight that's visable in the photo...nothing alarming. BUT, I think on a nice car like this it would be worth seeing whats underneath the makeup.

Looks nice, fairly complete and clean

I always love the door handles on em.

So, my body man looked at the photos real close...

...he said all the dents on the passenger front fender are easy repairs, the passenger door crease is where the door hit the fender when opened - its also easy to fix....he also said all the body lines on the driver side look great...

....he's concerned about the rear (as am I)...he thinks it's been hit & pushed into the trunk lid & repaired - though not very good...he figures a new trunk lid at worst...luckily, I have one...same with hood..he thinks he can repair it but being aluminumk, he thinks I need to have one on hand in case - I do....front valence is in good shape, he said, compared to some he're redone...

...passenger door either doesn't close properly or was left ajar in the photo...but body man again said all the body lines on that side look good so he wasn't concerned about door closure.

...overall, he said with a complete disassembly, stripping body to frame, it'll not be too hard a restoration...he didn't see any evidence of rust in the normal places but, then again, all he can see is what I see.

I leave Huntsville tomorrow morning at 9:05am via Delta & arrive in Phoenix at 3:35pm!! 25,000 air miles & $75 because I didn't give Delta 21 days notice I wanted to use my Skymiles.

Way to go. Road trip. hehe.
