TR2/3/3A O/D brass cap leaking

After changing the fluid in the trans and O/D the large brass drain at the filter is leaking. I did reuse the fiber washer that was new before the change. I'm going to get a new washer, but has anybody any ideas how to keep this from leaking. Before the change it did leak but only a drop once in awhile. I was thinking of Teflon tape on the threads and trim off any extra.

I replaced it with a new fiber washer from Rimmer Bros. abut a month ago. Still leaks.

I scrapped the fiber washer...that always leaked and locked the nut in place...and now use an o-ring from Ace Hardware. Works great and I don't have to crank the nut down super tight any more.

I followed John's suggestion a month or two ago.. No more leak.......(from there anyway!)

from my previous blog entry, fwiw:
"I went with John's suggestion of an O-ring for the OD plug. (Used the 2- 3/16" narrower ring, pictured above & only snug tight , like a spin on oil filter.)"

Im a big fan of Teflon tape but this is not the place.
I had the same issue and made a new washer from some .090 velum gasket material.Mine also needed some cleaning
up a with a file on the sealing surface of the nut where it was nicked from probably an adjustable or improper wrench.
