TR2/3/3A NYC White TR3A on Craigslist

For me, the white walls kill that deal! :hammer: Yes, I saw they are Port-a-Walls...even worse!!

Besides that, seems like a lot of loot for a car that has some issues. What's with the black dash...

Merrit Cars.

I met him last year and toured his shop and warehouse. He has about 30 cars on hand at any time - all enthusiast type cars. It is a husband/wife operation with a single mechanic. Nice enough folks, and honest imo. They don't claim their cars to be anything more than what they are. Their model is to buy low, internet advertise and turn 'em over quick at low margin, leaving the customer to do the clean up. Usually they post 100+ pix of each car along with some video of the car running, but their picassa picture hoasting server seems to be down right now. They have a number of overseas clients and many of his cars are sold based solely on the pictures - not so much walk in clientel. He will always buy a TR3 - they are good movers for him.

I'd buy a car from 'em if the price was right.

Hi Randy - no appology necessary - his stuff often is rough. The day I was there he was taking delivery of an old 911 he had bought from the west coast - his comment was "oh boy, I'm going to be in trouble on this one - it's a lot rougher than the seller led me to believe".

I was just trying to share my impressions from what I saw when I went there one time - my conclusion from visiting them was it is a legit business with a physical address that doesn't pretend to be anything more than they are.

I think he serves as an additional reference point establishing what the real prices should be for old vintage cars - high prices or not, he does turn 'em over. Interesting he is rarely on ebay.

I personally also agree - his prices are high - I couldn't come to terms on the particular TR3 I went there to look at - but - someone else did a few days later - the car I looked at went to the Netherlands. Like I said, I'd buy a car from him but only if the price was right.

[ I never said he was dishonest or any type of representation problem. I just have seen that he has several cars that are pretty rough and he is not shy about the asking price.

I tend to agree with Randy about him not being shy with his prices. Some of those cars are really rough. But, I must say he does post a lot of pictures that really show you the car well.
