Numbers on firewall

I am restoring a 1960 TR3-A and upon pulling out the battery box I discovered a plate attached to the firewall behind the battery box and out of view. The plate was stamped with the following numbers: 1099178 Does anyone have an idea as to what these numbers mean?

Body number, there should have been another plate with letters EB and numbers following it on top of the numbered plate you mentioned. Those plates are sometimes lost or removed when battery box rusts out. There have been a couple of posts about those plates in the Triumph forum
