TR5/TR250 number of TR250's left in the US

I have been up since around 2am just surfing the interwebs, mainly checking out my new favorite site Howstuffworks.com. Reading on how diesel and gasoline motors differ and exactly how a Rotary motor works.......Well to the point, I got to wondering how many TR250's there were still running in the US? If anyone happens to know a round about number on this I would appreciate it.......other wise its going to bug me all day long
 
I have a tr250 engine in re-build that will go in a tr6, does that count? The TR250 that the engine came out of was launched over a center divider in 1976 and scraped.
 
They're all family,so I guess we can let that count hahahahaaa
 
I've got a spare TR250 gearbox sitting in my garage. Maybe we can collectively gather all the parts we each have to build a complete TR250.
 
well i have plenty of spare parts laying around to chip into the build
 
yeah just checked that out......mine is not in there so got to be more hahahaa
 
I've got a TR250 block in my '69 TR6

It could have been a leftover from 1968.
 
How many 6-cylinder engines got stuffed in TR4As?? That should make up for the TR250s that were scrapped. :jester:

TR4s, and TR3s making them TR3bs, and, of course boat anchors...

Interestingly, my TR250 is "officially" a TR6.

Well, trust me, it's a TR250 through and through...very original (if a little worn).

But, when I first registered it in 1994, there was no such model in the insurance company database. I was given the opportunity to insure it as the "closest" model. I could have gone with TR4 or TR6. I went with TR6 because I assumed the insurance would probably be cheaper.

So, to this very day, my registration says that I own a 1968 TR6.
 
I had a 1969 and 1970 GT6 at the same time about 10 years ago. The insurance company couldn't find a model, so they listed them as MGB-GT, which was a riot to me. When I switched companies, they listed them as Spitfire but with a "GT" in the comments field. Talk about cheap insurance for what I had...
