Not sure about the earliest - but they do seem to have very good survival rates. Must have something to do with the fiberglass body. I did notice that it must have been brown at some point and someone deliberatly painted it orange!
Had to look in the dictionary to confirm the scimitar as the Turkish sword of lore. What a neat model name, not to mention a killer Scrabble word. I often wish that all British cars had been fiberglass. Glass worms are not nearly as voracious as rust worms
