Now What.....the answer

I was pulling my hair out (ok, not really. I shave my head.) when I couldn't get my car started. Thinking it was the fuel pump, I swapped it out for a new one. Still didn't start (now I have a spare!). Checked the spark, and no fire! Brand-new, rebuilt dizzy from Advanced. Traced my juice all the way to the points and no spark. Started swapping out parts....condensor, coil, rotor...Nothing. So, I slipped my Pertronix in and KABOOM, it started with a vengeance. Runs like a bat out of Hades. Go figure. Now, these were all Jeff Schlemmer's components. His cap, his rotor, his...points...it was the whole points assembly that was bad. I reused my old Sport coil, and his new cap and his new rotor. It was the points. For the life of me, I cannot bench test this points set with a juice machine and get it to fail. A real enigma. Just be satisfied with the Pertronix, prolly get a spare to carry for the road. Might go back later and reinstall points using one of my many new sets from TRF, standard Lucas.

Bill,

Please let Jeff know. He hates these kind of things to happen and he only uses top quality parts. I'm sure that he'd want to know about those points or to get them back to test them.
