So. I'm up at the camp taking the starter off the Ranger and one of the employees who is sort of another daughter starts talking about the power steering pump going on here 2000 Sidekick. I've got a line on a used pump for $75 - are they hard to change? it's not a closed system is it? IE> there's nothing to bleed?

generally you should not have to bleed a p/s pump

Pastor and mobile mechanic is the same vocation - you go out into the community and bring relief, advice, comfort, etc. to those in need! :smile: I suspect there is a higher dollar/hour rate associated with the mobile mechanic aspect though....

and yes, you are right about the mechanic hourly rate (unless Tony jumps in with some comment about only working one hour per week.) :rolleyes: On the other hand I like to think my retirement plan is pretty "out of this world" and permanent too.

well it's all good - found the only used pump in the area, and other than the little (OK a lot) more fluid on the driveway than should be there, and the fact that it took me about 45 minutes longer than it should have to figure out the serpentine belt tensioner, it's installed and working - I was actually amazed how easy it was to take out
