Probably not defendable. I know how that works if you can't actually see. Metro bus stopped in traffic, right lane, waves a car out of a parking lot, where she collides with a motorcyclist. That did not play out well.
I see two major flaws. First, it's a big monitor. the tec zombies behind it will just hang there and watch it without paying attention to what's really happening.
Second, you KNOW they will put ads on them somehow.
TATA Land Rover is working on cameras to eliminate A pillar blindness and cameras focused on road to enable you to see downhill thru the hood/bonnet. Looks freakish at first, but actually eliminates the blind spots on sides and ahead.
