Jacked Miss Agatha up this morning to install the clutch slave cylinder. Guess what it does not fit.
It is too long, and will not clear the rear engine backing plate.
It is a Moss 180-655 7/8th bore and even looks like the one in the parts book.
There is just no way it can be bolted in as the end is too long to clear at the front, the backing plate end.
It is 2 15/16 inchs long main body metal. From where the rubber boot uncovers the body to the other end, large part of the body. Total length, overall 4 1/8 inchs.
This is a Lockheed, Delphi item made in Italy. Has an
A2 5 number cast in the side of it.
Going back out to garage to check some more.
Well maybe but sure would be nice if it was a 1/16 or an 1/8 inch shorter. Hate to have it against the back plate.
Hmm, I do have a grinder. Hehe.
