I'm finishing up the front end work on my TR3, and I pulled out a box with a mess of supposedly front end stuff. In there was the part in the above attachment, and I don't have a clue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif What is it and where does it go??

It's your front exhaust mount, attaching to the gearbox mounting, TR4 style, part number 130888

Hope this helps!

Holy cow, I just went online with both Moss and TRF to check that part out, and it shows up only as a TR4 bracket, and I'm re-doing a TR3. No wonder I couldn't figure out where that part went. I haven't had a TR4 around here for almost twenty years. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Great, I'll probably run into some other mind bending junk laying around here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

In my opinion the exhaust mount used on a TR3A is easier to work with than the TR4 one you pictured -- so you are well out of it. Both mount the exhaust securely but I think the 3A version is easier to service down the road when the system needs replacement.
