Yup. The first thing I did when "upgrading" to AVG v8 was to turn that stupid linkscanner off.
 
hmmm - isn't the scanner "overload" only on search engine websites?

I dumped AVG after that upgrade to 8. It killed (bogged down) my network, we couldn't get anything done...small footprint, my eye.
 
Yet to go to 8 on any scale, must look at the one install I have here. There IS such a thing as TOO pro-active, IMO.
