Kurtis,
I'm not saying that all of those things wouldn't benefit his car. All I'm trying to do is help him get his car started so he can better discern what the condition of the engine might be. I completely agree with the notion of "proving" the ignition before messing the the carbs. I think most would. I assumed that the engine was running after being reinstalled. If not, there are a few basic things that need to be done beforehand. Anyway, to be honest, I think we are saying the same things just approaching it from a different direction.

ok let me restate, the car WAS running in 04 before a new clutch was insatlled. It sat till today. I got it started once while killing a battery trying. The way I got it started was to give it no throttle, and no choke. It ran for a couple of minutes with no power, and very rough. It stalled when I applied gas.

Actually I know the distributor is the same one as was on the car in 04, Am I right, I thought a distributor could only go in 1 way. so if it was removed when the engine was out for a new clutch it could have only gone back in the same way...Correct?

Incorrect. The body of the distributor and the shaft obviously rotate independent of one another. Unless the distributor and the mounting plate were removed together, the relative position of the body and the shaft was lost.

Zimmy's suggestion about the plug wires is good as well. You mentioned that you had replaced the plug wires. It's very easy to get a couple of them swapped.

I stand by my original suggestion... Unless you have an obvious carb problem (fuel running out of a carb, etc.) I'd check all the ignition components first... then start messing with the carbs.

What condition are the points in? And do you have a timing light that you can use to easily check that all the plugs are indeed firing?

Good luck!
