Well I finally got Italian cars out of my system since I owned two recently and just sold my last one. I took the plunge and bought a 1979 MGB. I've been around here a while but with no British car previously, I haven't posted much -- only reading.

I've learned a lot and will ask many more questions as well as share what I can

Welcome into the ring, seems like we are always fighting to keep ahead and sometimes we win. Wayne

hey, welcome aboard - let's hope you're not posting about problems any time soon. i hope the enjoyment posts run rampant through your beginning mg days. BTW, post some pictures and tell us a little bit about yourself and your car. i believe it adds to the community when you read someone's name and you can recall their little brit and their experiences with it.

have fun,
Mike

Well, I'll have to get out my camera and post some pictures of my B....

Meanwhile, I'm a 54 year old mechanical engineer with my own business here in Panama CIty, FL. I left the hectic life in Wisconsin about 8 years ago and came down here to northwest Florida to continue my vacation. I've owned a few British sportscars over the years including a '65 Triumph Spitfire, '66 Sunbeam Alpine and '71 Lotus Europa. I've also owned some of those other cars like Porsches, Alfas and even a 328GTS Ferrari which I just sold. I bought my '79 B in pretty good shape with extras like the Weber carb, headers, new interior, etc. It's carmine with an autumn leaf interior. I drove the car 650 miles home after purchasing it--- my right leg is still hurting(I'm 6'-4" tall). Right now, I'm just getting familiar with the car and will be fixing those little things like worn suspension parts as well as a few improvements like an ANSA exhaust.

Of course the best part about living in Florida is that I can drive all year long with the top down (as well as work on it without getting too cold!!).
