I went down to one of the local LBC shops to get some more pics for 'Guess that Chassis' and they had the whole shop torn apart painting the walls and redoing the floors. So many things were piled up and not really photo ready. But chek out these future and some current projects.

I knew that one would spark some intrest. The Arnolt and the TC belong to the shops owners. The Arnolt owner also has a '63 Mini, a 2004 MINI and a '53 MG TD. He also has a 1972(?) Volvo P1800 Wagon with Fuel Injection.

The chap with the TC is a Rover Fanatic with two SD1's a few 2000TC's and two 3500's(P6B's). He also has an MGA, a Magnete, a Daimler sedan (one of the MKII Jag bodies, fluted grill and all, with the Daimler 2.5 litre V8) and a TR7.

Oh, and the TD chassis next to the Austin Healey 100-4 (behind the TC) is getting a Stage II MGB engine, MGB front/rear suspension and a Sierra five-speed transmission.

Neat place. You are lucky to have a place like that close by. I'm impressed.

Wahhhhh! I miss my old job!
Great pics.

---great shop picts, an "arnolt" cool looking car, kinda reminds me of my 65 alfa sprint coupe, never seen nor heard of one, i guess its the white one in the picts. since i can easily recognize all the others, who made them? what country of origin? what engine and trans are fitted to them? anyone? thanks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif p.s. wonder if the 1800 volvo fuel injection system could be fitted to a 6 cyl. healey engine since they both used the same s.u. carbs? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

I tried to buy one once but a guy in Ohio outbid me...he's done nothing with it since but won't sell.

I used to work at that shop and still have some business dealings with them so I'm pretty close to and kept informed on the current events there.

Not sure about the Volvo injection but as his P1800 Wagon is pristine I don't think he would like the idea of taking off the fuel injection to try it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

As for the Arnolt...if my recollection is correct and if its not I'm sure one of the MG o'philes can correct me. The MG Arnolts were developed/created by a Chicago area MG Dealer. They are Italian styled/made bodies on an MG TD Chassis and running gear. There were just over 100 (104 0r 106?) Arnolt MG's made. Split nearly evenly between coupes and convertibles. FWIT, a Triumph version (not done by Arnolt) would be the Italia, based on the TR3 chassis and running gear. Arnolt also collaborated with Bristol at one point in time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/computer.gif

There are a few LBC specialists in Northern Colorado (North of Denver) then a few in Denver as well. It's always interesting to see what continues to come out of the woodwork on occasion.

Re: Not guess the chassis-but check out these proj

There was an Italia on e-bay last week. Nobody bid on it. Nice looking car.

Re: Not guess the chassis-but check out these proj

No wonder no bids, looks great but not 60K worth at all.

swift6,i thought it had a certain "italian" flavor in its design, interesting piece, hay ya lurns sumtin evy day! thanks for the reply. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Yes Swift 6, the 1972 date for the P1800ES Volvo could be correct. The last production year was 1973.I own a 1972 model also.Nice for touring.---Keoke

NO!7777 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif the P1800 cars all had four Clyn engines and the computer is designed only to handle a four clyn engine.Additionally, the special Bosh Dizzy will not fit.Perhaps the 164 Volvo system might be used but it would take a lot of work!--Fwiw---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif
