My first connection with British cars was a 1956 MGA I bought in 1960 and drove until my new wife complained about her hair. My daughter was put thru two years of college when I sold my 1958 Triump and her 1959 MGA that I bought and repaired. My youngest son had a 19xx Spitfire that we put at least three clutches in. He now has a 1960 TR3 in my barn for my spare time. My oldest has a 1957 MGA that I owe him some hours on. So I guess I'm not finished with British cars..just wish my memory was better.....
