I consider a working flashlight and a fire extinguisher to be essential above all else, the F-A kits a close second. The climate here is so mild and rain frequent I've replaced the clothing with plastic "lyin' down" tarp.

It acually all fits in a large fanny/backpack. The Bag ValveMask flips into itself. Coming back from Norfolk there was an accident where a young man was ejected from the car that was on its roof. He was unconsious. I had him evaluated and collared by the time the ambulance arrived. We put him on the cot l

, loaded him and he was on the way to the hospital in less than a minute. He needed as much of the golden hour as he could get. When I ran back to the accident with my gear cheers went you from a church bus I passed.
 
If you carry all hat, why not just throw a paramedic in the trunk!
 
The Fire Fighter/EMT drives the TR-3. I don't have time in my life yet for the schooling, probation, and the additional hours to ride to maintain a paramedic license. Maybe soon. Lets see Engine Officer or Paramedic next????
