Not a Rant, Not Really...

Horsemits and her mum were Diamond concert attendees. I was more the "Black Oak, Captain Beefheart" type. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I like your style, Doc. Maybe throw in a little Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band,John Mayal? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

My mom listened to a LOT of John Denver and Neil Diamond. When she couldn't find a sitter (hard to do when you live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere Wyoming) I would get drug along to the concerts. Somehow, my older brother escaped the experience. Still not sure how he managed that one.

You haven't lived until you've thumped with John Denver.

"You fill up my - BOOM CHAKKA BOOM BOOM CHAKKA - senses, like a night in the BOOM BOOM BOOM CHAKKA CHAKKA BOOM forrest. Like the mountains in spring CHAKKA spring CHAKKA BOOM BOOM spring time, like a walk in the CHAKKA BOOM BOOM CHAKKA CHAKKA BOOM rain!"

If you've got enough oomf, you don't need to add anything to Annie's Song but wattage.

Learned how to play guitar to John Denver songs. Country roads, Back home again, Grandmas Feather Bed... It was all downhill from there.

Back in the day, I used to drive a 1275 sprite around the DC suburbs, complete with a genuine BL Special Tuning header, and megaphone exhaust pipe. I crammed some steel wool into the Meg, and held it in place with some screen and a hose clamp. Oh my god!!. At certain RPMs, I could rattle windows for blocks around. The car was pretty quick tho, and a huge amount of fun. I used to switch it off as I passed cops.... Ahh, the good old days....

Yep, and as a kid, I clothes-pinned playing cards on my bicycle where they would flap against the spokes to make it sound like a motorcycle. Then we "graduated" to tying balloons on to rub on the spokes for a more "realistic" sound. Them were the days, all right!
