Not a good day.

Yikes, that reminds me of washing carb parts in a bucket of water. After scooping all of them out (or so I thought) I go to my usual dumping spot and throw the water out of the bucket. Well, turns out I also threw out the lever to the jet on one of the SUs...not good!

OK, Monday was my "not a good day". I had the engine out of the 8 and sitting in its cradle. I planned on dropping the craddle and wheeling the engine in the garage to clean it up. I had unbolted the engine but did not pull the bolts out when my brother stopped over and his kids started playing with my dogs and then they left so I went back to jacking the engine up wondering why it seemed so heavy and watching the dogs when I heard a pop and realized i had not removed the bolts and ripped the engine mounts. What would I do with out Wooody. I probably keep his condo payments with just my engine mount purchases

Those magnetic rocks are often genuine meteorites. Don't throw them away. Depending on the size and type, collectorshave been known to pay big $$$ for them. There is quite a bit of source info on the "internets"

Well..... I didn`t find any magnetic rocks, I didn`t find the brush holders either! I`m guessing there NOT magnetic. What I did find was numerous nails, screws, and even bolts N nuts {lord only, knows where bolts N nuts came from}. I never work on anything in or even near the backyard. {Except for spraying off the W.W. motor field coil, what a dumb idea that was}
So as of today I`m resolved to waiting for the ebay W.W. assembly to arrive. If it by chance is non operable I will be resolved to looking at the leads posted previously in this thread for another assembly. Meanwhile ....... Twiddely dee Twiddely dum. At least I got me a magnet on a stick that will come in handy for picking up loose hardware when I dump bolts and nuts containers out on the garage bench looking for specific ones. I know, I know! I should sort them all out into specific containers. BEILIEVE ME I have! They somehow just don`t seem to stay sorted. Yea I believe I have more than just L.B.C. gremlins residing in my garage. OR perhaps they reside in my house and even sit at my dinner table at meal time, Commonly known as KIDS!
*Sigh*

Like the idea of disassembly in a box. In my case I'd start with the box from a refrigerator and just climb on in.
I used to use a piece of old window screen under any thing I was washing out. "Usually" worked

Cardboard box(with a closed bottom!), paper shopping bag (are they still around?) always worked for me.

One of the W.W. motors I ordered off of Ebay arrived today. Although it bieng from a later model and not exactly the same configuratrion, the brush holders fit my 1956 motor just fine.
Looks like im back in buissness as far as a W.W. motor goes. IF anyone needs parts {other than the brush holders} feel free to give me a shout.
