not a car ? but I need help/advice on centipedes

I recently have been over run by CENTIPEDES! These little pesky fellows are everywhere starting about a month ago. They are about 2 inches long and maybe 1/10 inch wide and they are everywhere after dark around my garage door and man door.


I have sprayed a pesticide that goes around the house and apparently once they run thru it they feel the need to squirm into my garage an die in mass. I noticed one and twos last month and put the spray down now it looks like a national geographic movie outside my garage. they are everywhere

Where could they have come from? My GF transplanted some flowers from her neighbors house and that is the only thing I could think of. Any idea of how to get rid of them permantly since the pesticide seems to only kill them when try to come in the house
 
No problem... I would guess I just need more powerful chemicals in larger numbers
 
Centipedes? You sure they're not tent caterpillers? This is about the time of year for 'em where you are.
 
Our tech support guy has had this problem.
He's not crazy about pesticides (neither am I), so be bought eight guinea hens (or "guinea fowl") and built a hen house. These birds also eat ticks, so that's a plus too.

Sorry, can't think of a simpler solution.
We have tent caterpillers too, but I think they've mostly turned to moths by now.
 
Saute them in butter and garlic, umm umm good.
 
I get 'em round here too. little tiny, what I'd call millipedes. they love my garage. I'd love to find a solution to getting them gone... without human consumption being involved..... Who let Zimmerman on the forum?
 
My suggestion is to buy a pair of clown shoes and walk all over your garage floor. Just make sure you have the garage door shut so your neighbors don't see you...

My only comment is that in today's devalued economy surely what you are experiencing is a problem with dollaripedes! :devilgrin:
 
Centipede!

Keep your head up and your eyes high on the screen. Keep the track ball moving, and toggle the "fire" button all the time. Watch out for the bombs!

The Mrs and I don't like to use chemical kill too
liberally.

We have found an excellent, natural method to rid rooms of
both centipededs and millipedes. Two per room usually does
the trick. They work well on pest-y neighbors also.

Good non-toxic control for those critters:

diatomaceous earth (like ground-up seashells) - from a garden supply store (not a pool supply store).

Sprinkle liberally over the grass, driveway, etc., especially in the damp areas around the garage. It's abrasive to the little buggers - like you and me crawling through broken glass.

Heavy duty control: powdered borax (usually in the laundry section of the supermarket)

Both methods are cheap and effective. And inexpensive. And cheap. And don't cost much.
