Norwich University and Vermont

My son is considering Norwich university in Northfield VT. We have never been there before so we were amazed. All the streams, and even rivers were so clear you could see the bottoms, the entire state was extremely friendly, lots of great little local restuarants and what we liked most, no Billboards along the roads. Seems they have some how managed to keep mst of the restuarant chains out.

Norwich is located in Northfield, a small town with a general store (no Walmart). My daughter went with us on the promise that the evening my son spent the night with the Corp we would go to the Ben and Jerry's factory. The tour was dissappointing but the ride there was fascinating. We borrowed my ex's Garmin and took the route it suggested and we ended up driving over a mountian on dirt road (we took my Dodge Ram 1500). The view was breath taking, we wished it had been after the trees bloomed. The trip up the hill was fun and worth the ride, the trip down was stressful, steep steep drop, road was muddy.

Best part of the 10 hour ride up and back was 10 hours of my kids talking to me. I do not know what I will do as they graduate and move away, I guess I will transfer my attention to my Triumph. Vermont gets two thumbs up on my vacation scale

If you end up with a child in school there, you have to go to the British Invasion of Stowe. 2nd week of Sept. I think. GREAT show with at least 700 LBC's to admire.

We have dear friends in Waitsfield, and have been making at least one trip up there a year for the past 20 or so.

My son gets e mails thru my computer from that school constantly

My son has been looking at VMI, The Citadel, and Norwich, I think he is leaning toward Norwich and VMI. Texas A&M was too big for his taste I think. I was wondering about the 10 hour ride in my 8. Might have to tow it up. Got to get the vibration fixed first.

First choice for my son is the Academy and the Marines. Then VMI, then Norwich

Vermont is increadible!
Don - USNA!!!I hope it works out.
Of course I'm biased (Son in class of '06).
