Normal Spring Saturday Morning

So, I'm out in an MGB just now doing 3500rpm or so (around 70mph) on the back roads around here - just clearing my head & getting ready to chop down a tree that died this winter...mainly enjoying myself....but, every time I got ready to really lay into a curve & follow the line there was somebody in a normal car puttin' along at the 45mph speed limit or slower coming from the opposite direction....don't these people realize Spring Saturday mornings & country back roads belong to LBC's?

Yeah, Tony. Nothing screws up your line like a soccer Mom on a cell phone coming the other way. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

......Well I was out this AM myself, what a fantastic drive and we have no such traffic problems here in the moutains of NM.
I was trying out my new front tyres, now narrower, and what a difference! It steers light and goes where I want it to go!! All right with the world.

too cold to drive this morning, even if I could. I want my global warming.

Yeah, I was out this morning. Shoveling & chipping. Dag-nabbed winter.

I just got back from late AM drive. Went to Madrid for coffee. Where were you?

Used to be a New Englander, glad I'm no longer one!!!

Gads, that Healey looks like Agatha.

We get that a lot around here.Motorhomes
& flatlanders don't seem to know what to do
when they come to a hill,or a corner.And when
they come to the sign that says "Turnout",I
think they say - "Turnout - didn't we go there
for vacation last year?We won't ever go there
again!".
I also say that the only thing worse
than being behind a VW Bus,is being behind 2 of them.

One thing I always did religiously on my RV trips was over to the side of the road to let people by as often as I could...I was in no hurry but they probably were.

Tony, in California there is a law requiring you to pull over if you are impeding traffic. That doesn't mean the flatlanders know about it, however!
Jeff

You need to have someone there to read the signs
to them.
Jeff,

I was driving from Williams to Ukiah on
Hwy 20.There was a car from the Midwest travelling
at...... 20mph.NOWHERE to pass for miles (& miles).

We made the mistake of taking that highway
when we picked up the Suburban.
You don't ever want to drive through the Napa Valley,
unless you're not in a hurry.Kind of like driving
the LA freeways.

The Silverado Trail up to Lakeport isn't bad, but I'd much rather take some of the less travelled routes.
The next time I'm out there, I'm going to backroad it up to your place. Probably just wander up to Garberville, and then cut over and come up through Petrolia.
Jeff

Hi, I went for coffee in Ruidoso! I have followed the story of Agitha, in fact I saw that article in the ABQ Journal a few years ago, just when I was restoring mine, ended up having Dave Porter do my metal work.
