Maybe it's just because of getting older myself and noticing these things more, but it does seem like there are more passing in the entertainment fields these days. Wish him a cheeseburger when he arrives at the next destination.

Coincidentally seeing a PBS local program about the Port Boca Grande lighthouse just now. Been to the island many times visiting friends, that end of the island and the beach are quite familiar. Many pleasant times trolling around thru the pass and the islands in the area "...messing around in boats."
 
The Margaritaville Channel on SiriusXM (channel 24) is playing a tribute - lots of concert audio.
 
My wife and I enjoyed seeing Jimmy Buffett in concert in the 1980s (he put on a good one), I also went to the restaurant in St. Barts in the Caribbean lauded in "Cheeseburger in Paradise." I ordered the fish, which was quite good, as I remember...

Just saw this - seems he died of a rare version of skin cancer, which given his life, lifestyle and activities makes sense.

The rumors abound, but we've been to the restaurant a few times.

My wife and her sister declared we will visit over the holidays. I’m not sure it is the inspiration for the song - but good enough for me (and a wonderful cheeseburger).
