According to Wikipedia, baseball bats for high school play may be made "only of wood or non-wood material." I hate being limited like that.

I read it on the Internet, it must be true!

I'm thinking that they left out other non-material possibilities... like pure energy. So, what about a light-saber bat?

And what about mitts? Leather or non-leather material? :wink-new:

If you read between the lines, a leaf spring would be legal.

I'm wondering, though, if the actual intent was to forbid wood-based composites (like laminates or cork cores). In other words, it has to be solid wood, or totally non-wood (like aluminum).
