Non OEM/aftermarket parts suppliers.

How is the quality of the parts from the big mail order houses like Moss and British Victoria? Is the quality similiar enough so that I order parts with price being the primary criteria?

Also when is it wise to cruise wrecking yards for parts vs. New?
Thanks,
Les

Sometimes they use the same suppliers, sometimes different. Moss has real technical support, vicky brit doesn't. Alot of maintenance parts can be ordered through your local autoparts store. If you use moss, you might consider using one of the resellers/distributors. There are some parts that there are no reproductions of, and therefore require either NOS or used. There are only occasional junk yard finds.

I think for the most part the quality of the parts from Moss and VB are fine but I would be careful of body panels, especially assmblies to make sure that all of the other pieces that attach have the proper fit. I recently bought the whole front cowl assembly and although it was nice , shiny and new, the chrome trim did not fit at all. I am currently working Moss to find out why and I'm hoping not to have to purchase new trim. sometimes, its better to seek out a solid repairable panel from a junkyard then to go through fit up for a remanufactured one.
