What great wit!

He had many:

"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

"A lady came up to me one day and said 'Sir! You are drunk', to which I replied 'I am drunk today madam, and tomorrow I shall be sober but you will still be ugly."

Woman : "Winston, if you were my husband, I'd put poison in your
coffee."
Churchill: "And if you were my wife, I'd willingly drink it."

Winnie was a contemporary hero of me Ol' Fella's, consequently I was aware of the man's wit and wisdom early in my life. What a treasure to humanity he was/is.
