Iam running twin su's on a 1275 engine, I am trying to get it to run after 2 yrs. Replaced all igition wires, cap rotor etc. Cleaned out the float bowls, made sure dampers moved freely, and the needles and butterflies were not stuck. Set the idle screws at 1 1/2 turns and the mixture down from the bridge 2 full turn on both carbs. The car starts and idles about 1700, but when I pull the throttle cable there is NO increase in engine speed. NONE???? The damper move up, then settle back down, the cable is connected cause the butterflies open.....any suggestions??

After two years, chances are that the cork washers are swollen and not letting any fuel get up. I'd fully rebuild the SUs. Additionally, check the rest of the fuel delivery system: that the diaphram in the fuel pump isn't leaking, the filter glass bowl isn't filled with junk and the fuel lines aren't clogged.

You'll also want to check spark plugs, distributor leads and timing.
